Shot Rite Photography does more than simply take your picture.
We also offer unique and innovative portrait options such as Tintype Portraits. 

A tintype, also known as a melainotype or ferrotype, is a photograph made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal coated with a dark lacquer or enamel and used as the support for the photographic emulsion. Tintypes enjoyed their widest use during the 1860s and 1870s. Shot Rite Photography is Chattanooga's leading provider of this novelty fine art form now available in the 21st century.

The Details

  • All photography sessions are by appointment only. If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours notice.
  • All appointments require a 50% non-refundable down payment.
  • For single portraits, please plan on being available for 1-2 hours.
  • For sessions, please plan on being available for 4-6 hours.
  • Prices do not include tax.
  • Gratuity for the photographer is not included or expected, but always appreciated.

Tintype Session

How do I book a session?

Booking is easy! Simply contact us through our website, email, or phone to discuss availability and details. A deposit may be required to secure your date.

What should I wear for my photoshoot?

Wear outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Solid colors, minimal patterns, and coordinating (but not matching) outfits work best for group photos. We’re happy to provide styling tips!

How long does a photoshoot take?

Session lengths vary depending on the type of shoot. Portrait sessions typically last 45 minutes to an hour, while more extensive sessions, like weddings, can take several hours.

When will I receive my photos?

Editing takes time to ensure the best quality. Most sessions are delivered within 2-3 weeks, while larger events like weddings may take up to 6 weeks. Rush processing may be available upon request.

Do you offer prints or just digital images?

We offer both! You can choose high-resolution digital files, professional prints, albums, and wall art to showcase your memories beautifully.

What happens if the weather is bad for an outdoor session?

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we can reschedule for another day or move the session to an indoor location. We’ll stay in touch and make the best decision together.
